"Gazeta Wyborcza" and Fundacja Hospicyjna (The Hospice Foundation www.hospicja.pl) started the campaign "Humane death". The action is designed to improve the conditions for dying people in hospices and hospitals, as well as to promote volunteer work and get the readers familiar with the death matters.
Organizers of the action created special "Decalogue" - 10 principles of "Humane death". The code will be promoted among hospices and hospitals. In autumn "Gazeta Wyborcza" will publish also a unique guide describing conditions for dying people in hospices and hospitals in Poland.
On March 17 "Gazeta Wyborcza" started editorial series on death - the articles describe metaphysical, spiritual, psychological and medical aspect of death. The journalists advise readers on how to deal with the closest people's death, how to overcome the loss and where to look for help in the time of mourning.
